Not sure of the official terms, but I'd describe the top right one as parallel hatching, bottom left one as cross-contour hatching and bottom right as contour hatching... is this the right terminology?

Lately I've been reading about General Custer, so before the hat & finer details I'm checking out some moustache & military uniform styles – mainly American and French – of the late 1800's.

Or might just end up with a tightly strapped US Marine Corps Drill Instructor’s campaign hat, à la Full Metal Jacket heh.

Trying out some HDRI lighting settings on a very reflective surface. Practise for the Holy Grail of these things: photorealistic human skin.

I didn’t make that robot thing, merely composed & adjusted the scene and made a render. If I work REALLY hard, I’d guestimate that it’ll take me, say, good 4-12 months until I’ll have my first actual 3D character model somewhat ready. Probably few small, not-so-good items before that.

Poly modeled in Blender 2.80. ALMOST quads only, with as few E-poles or N-poles as I could do at this point. Will continue to model the rest of the body.

I see many things wrong with the mesh, but I’ll just force myself to let them be and continue learning by going forward.
